Description

A Malaysian pickled vegetable appetizer with vinegar, sugar, aromatics, and chilled vegetables.

Ingredients

vinegar
1cup
tap water
0.5cup
granulated sugar
0.33cup
lemongrass, chopped fine
1tbsp
galangal, chopped fine
1tbsp
garlic, whole
3clove
sesame seed
1tsp
turmeric, fresh
1tsp
chili paste
1tsp
carrots, julienne
0.5cup
cucumber, julienne
0.5cup
cauliflower, broken into florets
0.5cup
shallot, whole
0.5cup

Directions

1. Bring vinegar, sugar, sesame seeds and water to boil 2. Add lemon grass, galangal, garlic, turmeric and chilli paste and simmer for 5 minutes 3.
