A chilled mango custard dessert made by folding cooked mangoes into a cooled milk custard.
Ingredients
milk | 2 | cupcup |
egg, lightly beaten | 2 | |
granulated sugar | 0.5 | cupcup |

granulated sugar | 3 | tbsptablespoon |
mango, peeled, cut into pieces | 2 |
Directions
1. Make the custard from the first three ingredients: 2. Heat the milk in a saucepan over low heat 3. In a bowl, mix the half cup of Sugar into the lightly beaten eggs. Slowly add about a quarter of the heated milk to the egg-Sugar mixture, while stirring continuously 4. Slowly stir the egg-sugar-milk mixture into the remaining heated milk. Cook on low heat, until it thickens into a custard, stirring gently and continuously 5. Spoon it into a clean bowl and place in the refrigerator to cool 1. While the custard is cooling, cook the mangoes: 2. Bring the water and three tablespoons of Sugar to the boil 3. Add the mango pieces. Reduce heat and cook until tender, 5 to 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Mash the mango, or press it through a sieve 4. Spoon it into a clean bowl and place in the refrigerator to cool 1. To serve: 2. Gently fold together custard and fruit 3. Spoon into serving bowls 4. Serve immediately or keep in refrigerator for no more than a day
